CURVE LAKE FIRST NATIONS HEALTH CENTER
NURS 2020 Placement (September 2015-December 2015)
This placement took place at a health unit on the Curve Lake First Nations Reserve. It was a community placement where I worked with a partner on implementing policies and health teaching. We focused mostly on 3 projects: a skin assessment policy and assessment tool, determining the minimum and maximum hours to be allotted per resident in the homemaker's program, and to plan and host a lunch and learn centered on healthy living with diabetes. It was a 11 week clinical rotation occurring every Thursday and Friday from approximately 830-1630 with both on-site and off-site work. ![]()

PRHC MENTal Health
NURS 2021 Placement (January-March 2016)
This placement took place at the Peterborough Regional Health Center within mental health. It took place over 8 weeks rotating 12 hour shifts on Thursday and Friday. There was emphasis on building skills in the nursing field such as practicing active listening, communication skills, and establishing trust in order to build therapeutic relationships with clients. For my future placements: it is my goal to continue to build confidence in myself, decrease my anxiety levels, and work on establishing therapeutic relationships with my clients. ![]()
